Hi all

I thought I'd introduce myself, although a few have spoken to me at locostbuilders before.

I'm Mark, masquerading as FuryRebuild here, and on LCB as well. I'm restoring my original IRS fury and I'm in the process of replacing many old parts with carbon fibre. Similarly the old pinto has gone, and I've replaced it (or am in the process of replacing it) with a duratec. It's been bored, balanced and had steel rods, pocked pistons, lightened balanced flywheel and a stage 3 tarmac cam set. It's all from SBD and I'm in the process of nailing it together.

I wandered over to the members that had assembled themselves at Stoneleigh, but it was near the end of the day and you looked like you were leaving so I didn't hang about.

If it was Sunday at Stoneleigh you there were a few who left en masse late afternoon but plenty of us staying overnight. You should have come said hello and stayed for the BBQ.

Not much happened on the car this week - been locked away with work. I have however got the chassis back from the powder coaters. You can have first gander ...



It's candy-blue. Slightly darker than I thought, and the effect does show up inperfections in the chassis or any welding that isn't cosmetically wonderful.

However, I'm happy and I can finally start nailing stuff together.

I, and I am sure many others, are intrigued as to how your composite construction works in replacing some of the chassis

Many thanks - I've been careful and been sure I have a good mentor (Vic, Scorpion Composites) who has taught me some great technique and helped me with mould thinking and how to infuse properly and also around layups so I make something very secure).

If I've cocked it up, I'll feel it as my arse drags on the floor
