New Fury at the Nurburgring

Hi all,

I've just bought Ed's Fury project that was advertised on this forum, along with a 2nd hand red spyder body with lemans bonnet from Steve at Fury. Car was delivered last night to where I live in Adenau, in the middle of the Nurburgring.

Still trying to decide what engine and gearbox. I have a Volvo 3 litre straight six in the garage already, with a Getrag 420G from an M3, which I was planning on using. However having seen the engine bay space last night, there's no way the engine or gearbox will fit, so now back to the drawing board.

I'm planning on using the car as a road legal track car for the Ring, once its built and registered. Track entrance at Breidsheid is under a mile from my house.

Any recommendations or advice at this stage would be appreciated, very much at the planning stage.

Cheers,

George

Will have to see what my wife makes of lots of Furies turning up in Adenau. I could probably organise a factory tour round where I work if there were some Furies coming down, there's some interesting cars and other 'vehicles' there. (www.red-aircraft.com)

I'm hoping to have the car done towards the end of the summer, although there's a hell of lot of work to do first.

It'd be good to do some laps in any cars that might be coming before then, to see what I can pick-up regarding car settings. I'm not experienced with Furies, but have owned a few oddball cars, such as a Marcos 3 litre (volvo engine) which I just sold, a mk.2 escort, a crazily overpowered Volvo 850 T5; so I've got a steep learning curve ahead of me.
