First kit car, new Striker owner (West Mids)

Postby Alastair » Sun Aug 30, 2015 9:41 am

Morning all,

Purchased my first kit car, a Sylva Striker, at the end of last week and had a blast out and about in it yesterday.

Plans are to use it until the weather turns, then set about tidying it up over the winter - just going to have to know when 'tidy' is tidy enough before I strip the whole thing apart...

Also have a Mk1 MX5 that I've just finished installing GSXR1000 ITB's to and mapping Megasquirt - therefore I've got a bit to learn about 'old school' tech, carbs, etc.

I'm really keen to get some full height fibreglass seats in the Striker so if anyone has some for sale please private message me, otherwise I'll be off to JK composites.

HI Alastair,

welcome to the fold, car looks good and get out and enjoy it. One question whats wrong with the seats in it? Also just my own personal view but I would look at a new air filter set-up to get the most out of the carbatooters as those are a bit restrictive.

anyway good to see another striker out and about 8-)

Nice car.
Looks a little like Greg Bamfords old beast, but I am not sure where that went.
Enjoy what's left of summer before you start fettling, remember kitcars are never finished!
...oh, and welcome to the madhouse!
Edd

Thanks guys and yes, this is Greg's car. Have spent the evening patching random holes around the cabin. I'll get a project build thread up once I get onto some more exciting updates.

I think you may have meant to reply to a different thread than this one Kaan?
