Fisher Fury new owner

Postby IAN51 » Tue Jun 16, 2015 10:45 am

Hi name is Ian new to the forum ive just purchased an ex 750mc kit car Championship Fury. Raced by Henry Manning in early 2000's and late 90's. Powered by a Roland Hayes Cvh that will be replaced with a blacktop Zetec over Winter.

Car is primarily going to be my race car but also intend to use it as a road car as well. Hope to pick some of your brains regardind the car but any assistance I can give I will.

I will post a picture of the car later
Cheers

Ian

Yes mate its road legal. I think it was a prerequisite of the old kit car Championship that the cars were capable of passing an mot. I had a lovley blast out in it last night around Lichfield nice drive. Slight problem with the Quaife type 9 3rd and 4th are a pain to find. It feels if something is not quite right with the gate of the gearbox.

The full cage is a pain you can slither in ok but getting out is a pain and leaves you with no dignity at all lol

tell me about, i know just the feeling. Not to be all doom but it sounds like you might have a selector issue with the box. but i am no expert.

Just got home and removed the transmission panel and gearlever. The fault appears to be with the plastic gearlever saddle which is worn and broken no major issue a tenner of ebay just hope it resolves the issue

Some pictures as promised as you can see the car has an interesting front spoiler not a massive fan myself as it ruins the lines of the car.

And lastly one of the interesting spoiler fitted by Fisher Sports Cars my plan in the winter months is to remake the radiator, Bonnet hinge structure and radiator ducting more to the conventional look with a splitter

One last one of when it was racing back in the late 90;s it is just overtaking my mates Fletcher Hornet that has dropped a valve through a piston hence the smoke ! Rubbish picture quality but nonetheless
