New Striker owner

Postby lsdweb » Sat Jan 10, 2015 12:08 pm

Hi All

I thought I'd better introduce myself - I am now the 'proud' owner of a Striker - the car is an early 90s chassis and was used in sprints and hillclimbs in the South West I believe.

I've always wanted a Striker after building a Fury many years ago, and couldn't resist this one when it appeared for sale!

It needs a fair bit of TLC! It'll be stripped back to the bare chassis and the powder coat that hasn't fallen off already will be removed.

The car will be rebuilt for sprints and hillclimbs (road going) and will be fitted with a 1400 K series. It'll run in the Welsh and possibly South West Championships. It may also have an occasional outing in the Welsh Sports and Saloons Race Championship (I live a couple of miles away from Pembrey Circuit).

Wyn

Thanks guys

I popped the engine out earlier. I couldn't work out why the gearbox wanted to move with it until I realised the gearbox mount isn't fixed to anything!

The engine mounts look a bit unique!

Maybe I'm overly optimistic! If everything came together as planned I could do it......

You have a plan? Maybe that's what I am doing wrong  (and my plans never survive first contact with the family or work anyway!)

I am sure its possible ;) but I am so keen to get mine built and a little envious of everyone else that has the time to get on like you are
