I think the moral for any manufacturer thinking of supplying a kit-car to Top Gear is - don't !

Yep saw that episode - I was pretty pi55ed off at the time, was it just me, or was it a way of knocking all the people demanding they take an Ultima round the track? Something about the laboured way the Stratos was put at the bottom of the lap chart smacked of "don't mess with our toys" - but maybe I was reading too much into it.
This will explain why there are fewer & fewer articals on "interesting" cars (kits, rods & modifieds), they just irritate the owners. It would be interesting to get a "candid" opinion from the Renault 1 team!
Anyway, I've just written a complaint to the BBC Don't suppose it'll get anywhere, but it made me feel better.
