Jeff, remember that RR is almost 3 tonnes, which makes them a hand-full in the snow. 4x4 is all very well to get you going but not a lot of help stopping... and if it got standard fat low-profile tyres on...
I've pulled a fully loaded truck out of a ditch with a 1970's Range Rover , suitably loaded in the back with seats down and 1 tonne of animal feed bags. Decent tyres of course but it just doddled out in low gear , hardly any rev's -- a great 4 x 4 if you know how to use it Having said that my old 4.2lt Landcruiser was even better
Sorry Jeff. Just meant the 70's one is closer to a Defender in the luxury stakes than it's younger brother. Though a lot more comfortable than the series3 of the same era, it was still very utility based by modern standards; You could hose it out and wipe the seats down.
