New intercooler

Postby jeffw » Thu Dec 19, 2013 8:37 pm

Fury sports cars have replaced my Chinese Toyosport intercooler which was dropping 6psi with a 'free' Sierra Cossie one which doesn't...drop pressure. So extra boost means....car feels like what was full throttle is now 1/2 throttle and full throttle is warp factor 9. Car will wheel spin in any gear at more than 1/2 throttle in the damp conditions....can't wait for some dry weather :)

Guess it's going to be a handfull. Trickier to get the throttle control right and with the extra speed, braking point will become more critical... Are you sure you're up to it?... and are the brakes?

Think (with brute force) you might have the edge on me now...just ;) How many laps before you can't stop it though?

New discs (grooved and cross-drilled) and air feed to the brakes from the bonnet....

Nice one Jeff. I'm glad you didn't go with a chargecooler as they don't seem right (to me) in lightweight cars with all the extra mass.

It will be interesting to see what inlet temps you get with this new one (come warmer weather), I think you datalog that parameter.

Matt
