Hi Rich
How is the build going? Any more photos yet?
I am beginning to source some parts for my build a bit later in the year. Can you let me know if the ST150 drive shafts/hubs fitted Jeremy's fabricated uprights OK? I know you had to get the shafts shortened but was that the only mod?
Probably going for the MTX75 box as I'm told its stronger than the IB5. Down side is its a bit heavier though.
Cheers
David

Hi Dave,
the shafts went straight on after shortening by about 2 inches.
I've heard other people say about the IB5 but I've never had direct experience of having one or know of one fail. If you imagine the weight difference between the Fiesta ST150 and the J15 you'll really have to be going some to break one. The ST150 box also gives a very good spread of ratios that match the J15 superbly.
I'm hoping to crack on with the build over the next couple of weeks so hopefully some more pictures soon.
Cheers

Re: Richard's J15 build diary Update 9th May 2010 - New Pics!
Sunday night update for the 9th May - how are you guys? - you're all very quiet at the moment!!
Panelling is finished!! YES!! Just got to clean it up, deburr it, radius the corners and get it off to be powdercoated.
We've also made a start on the dash which is turning out to be not too bad after all. We've shaped it and got it to fit nicely and have cut out and mounted the column through it. That was a bit of a pain due to needing to keep the ignition switch and locking mechanism for IVA.
In the pictures you'll also notice my new battery. Picked it up at Stoneleigh complete with the mounting bracket for £95 which I didn't think was too bad.
Other job done which was also a pain was bleeding the brakes, still not happy with it I think I'm getting piston creep on the calipers so the first stab of the pedal is a bit longer then it should be!! Gonna give it another bleed and adjust the rear brakes up again. Might need some non return valves somewhere what do you guys think?
In the pictures you'll also notice I'm trying some integral reservoir master cylinders.
Next on the agenda is fitting up the panels once they're back and starting to get the loom in!!
Also need another steering wheel - any suggestions that are IVA friendly?
Here's the piccies

Cheers

Hi Pete,
No we only managed to get there on Monday for a flying visit whilst we were travelling between home and relatives. Would've come and said hello otherwise.
Cheers

A Caterham MOMO with the centre pad must be IVA compliant?

Anyone know if detachable steering wheels are OK for IVA?
